Blessed Are Those Who Hunger and Thirst For Righteousness, For They Will Be Filled
Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them.(Matthew 5:1-2)
Did You Know?
That the Hebrews called their coming Savior, the Messiah, Jahshuawah. The disciples of the Savior accepted Him as such, and to them. He was also known as Jahshuwah the Messiah. The Greeks, however, rejected the Hebrew name, and called Him (IESOUS-Jesus) instead.
Jesus teaches at Matthew 5:6 that, ” Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” What did he mean by this?
In a world where everyone defines for themselves what is right (righteous) and what is wrong (unrighteous), wars, crime, strife, and injustice has resulted. On one side, what is righteous (good) is viewed as unrighteous (evil) by those on the other side. What is unrighteous (evil) is viewed as righteous (good) by those on the other side.
It is very frustrating and for many a very stressful experience living in a world where unrighteousness (bad) prevails. News reporting is almost always bad news. It’s like breathing polluted air or drinking dirty water; it’s not good for you. It even wears you down.
Jesus teaches that a day will come where those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (good) will have it abundantly because God’s righteousness (rightness) will only prevail. No conflicting views as man will no longer be in a position of rulership over man. He had his chance and has failed miserably.
God is good and righteous. There is no unrighteousness in Him. Thus, when his kingdom comes down and envelopes the earth, it will be filled with only good and righteous things.
