The Mystery of God

Focus on the Mystery of God and NOT The Bible

To most, what a strange title.

I have long maintained that the so-called believing world has elevated a book namely, “The Bible,” to a holy and lofty position where it does not belong.

I maintain that …

  • The Bible was not sent by God, He sent His Son.
  • The Bible was authorized by men. God Authorized His Son.
  • The Bible was compiled and given its name by men. Did God authorize this?
  • All of the Bible is NOT Scripture.
  • The Bible is NOT holy. Jesus is.
  • The Bible is NOT “The Word of God.” Jesus Christ is.

I have maintained that the focus of the disciple (student) of Christ is on Christ himself and not a book or religious organization.

I firmly believe that the entire world today is blinded and gridlocked into the religions of the world and the books associated with them as being holy.

The result of this gridlock and blindness has been a world that is not spiritual and faithful to the One True God and Creator of us all. This world puts faith in the things that it can see. This world does not walk by faith. It walks by sight. (2 Cor 5:7)

For example, try telling a person within the Christian religious system not to give more prominence to a book over Christ and they look at you sideways. To many of them, it is not possible to learn about God and Christ without this book called the Bible.

To my point, this shows a lack of faith in that which cannot be seen. The very definition of faith is given in Hebrews 11:1.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

At John 4:24, Jesus teaches that “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Can one see a spirit? No! Spirits are not flesh and blood. They are invisible. God, Angels, and the ascended Christ (who is the Chief Angel) are invisible spirits. (Col 1:15)

It requires no faith to read the Bible, you can see it. Yet, many so-called followers of Christ are glued to this book as if – without it – they are walking blindly on a path that does not lead to the Father. They are essentially lost. Wanderers. Faithless.

Before he died, Jesus promised that he would ask the Father to send his followers something that would serve as a Guide and Teacher to them in his absence. What? A book? Let’s see.

“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.” (John 14:15-17)

Notice that this Advocate is invisible. What or who is this Advocate? The answer is given in John 14:26:

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

The Advocate is The Holy Spirit!

The Holy Spirit will only be sent post-ascension Christ. Again, notice that it was not a book that would be sent. (But it is a book that holds the world in a tight grip preventing it from truly cultivating and practicing faith in that which cannot be seen,)

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 16:7)

Our Focus Is To Be on the Mystery of God

At 1 Cor 2:6-7, notice what the Apostle Paul says:

“We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.”

Notice that there is a wisdom among mature ones (in Christ) that is NOT of this world (or age) or rulers of this age all of which will be destroyed when this world is destroyed. (Daniel 2:44)

That there is a greater wisdom from God that has been a mystery and hidden! Who or what is this mystery? The answer is given in Col 2:2-3.

“My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

The mystery of God is Christ! NOT a book!

Notice hidden in him is ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge!

That so many rely on and focus on a book for wisdom and knowledge, they severely limit and handicap themselves. All treasures of wisdom and knowledge are not in the Bible, they are in Christ himself.

The Bible one can see. Christ is an invisible spirit and it requires faith to follow him, believe him, and interface with him. Not so with the Bible which is not The Word of God.

Yet, I know well that the many claiming to follow Christ will place the Bible in a holy and lofty position where it does not belong. The end result is that they follow the Bible and not Christ. The Bible cannot lead to the Father. Only Christ can. Any believing the Bible is The Word of God is saying that the Bible is another way to the Father. Yet, Jesus said that he himself is the way. (John 14:6)

Now, am I saying one is not to read the Bible? Absolutely not! What I am saying is to know what it is and what it is not. It should never occupy a holy and lofty position as Christ, who is The Word of God.

In your private prayers to the Father, ask Him for His wisdom, His knowledge, and His understanding. We cannot lean or rely upon our own so-called wisdom, knowledge, and understanding which, in God’s view, are foolish. (1 Cor 3;19 and 1 Cor 1:25)

Ask incessantly and with deep conviction and wanting.

Be careful what you ask for as it will be the truth and many are unable to handle it and will reject it. Why? Because like a powerful medicine, it works to cure you of the contamination of lies you have been subjected to. Your mental and spiritual system will fight with it.

Many will outright reject the truth because it doesn’t feel good or they succumb to the pressures of the religious systems of the world to ‘get in and stay in line.’

Once you receive the truth – and it keeps on coming – you will not be popular or liked by its religious systems and members thereof, especially Christianity.

But it will be the truth.

No one of importance. A disciple (student) of Christ apart from the established religious systems who reasons, thinks and concludes matters for myself. Something is not right with the state of religion in the world. The real dichotomy is that we live in a world so full of religion, yet is an evil, immoral, and dangerous place to live. A mental and spiritual separation from this world that Jesus said his kingdom is no part of is the first step to a "break-through" to freedom and entry into a much larger spiritual world where God and Christ resides and the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of God can be accessed.
