I am sure you have heard the expression “Holy Land.” You may hear people say that they are “going to the Holy Land.” Why? Because they believe that it has some special significance with regards Christ (for those who are Christians) or Muhammad (for those who are Muslims).
However, is there a special place on earth today – some patch of ground – that is holy? A place that can be considered a “Holy Land?”
Kingdoms of the World Belong To Satan
Recall at Matthew 4:8-9 that Satan the Devil offered Jesus all of the kingdoms of the world.
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
So, Jesus recognized who the world (not the earth itself) and all of the kingdoms in it belonged to. The Apostle Paul also tells us at 2 Cor 4:4 that Satan is the god of this age and world. He too, recognized that while Christ’s followers are in this world, they will inherit nothing out of it because Christ’s kingdom will not be born out of it.
Jesus’ Kingdom No Part of This World. It Is From Another Place
Jesus next taught that his kingdom will not be born out of this world as mentioned above. Thus, nothing of this world can be holy. Its god is Satan the Devil.
Jesus taught that …
My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place. – John 18:36
Standing In a Holy Place
The entire world – and we can see this even now – is embroiled in a deep deception. People believe that there are safety and consolation within the walls of “church” buildings, temples, mosques, and synagogues.
The notion that some patch of earth is a Holy Land makes them “feel” good and closer to God. None of those things are spiritual in nature and God cannot be worshiped in this manner. (John 4:23-24)
I know “church-goers” who spend exorbitant amounts of money to visit the “Holy Land.” Why? What do they expect to find there? They do it for it for an emotional high. To make them feel closer to God. Also, to advertise to others that “They” went to the Holy Land.
Of what benefit is it to tell others that they went to the Holy Land other than who put on some air of self-righteousness. Christ never commanded his followers to go visit some Holy Land.
Rather those persons giving or donating those large amounts of money to the needy and poor in the world, they spend it on themselves. Never once thinking about the billions of poor people in the world who could not even dream about doing something like that.
A tree is known by the kind of fruit it bears. Sadly, religion has produced some very bad fruit in men and women.
At Matthew 24:15 Jesus said …
So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand …
What did he mean by this?
Jesus already taught us that his kingdom is not of this world. So something will stand in the Holy Place as a substitute, counterfeiting as holy.
Anything in this world that is called holy is a lie. Nothing holy can come out of a world that Christ’s kingdom is no part of.
Thus, believing that the earthly capital city of Israel – Jerusalem – is a “Holy Land” is an abomination.
This shows how deep the deception is.
One would think that proclaimers of Christ would know this, but many of them do not. One would think that they would give heed to Jesus’ words that his kingdom is not of this world. Many of them do not listen. One would think that they would know that Christ kingdom will be born from the heavens above. Many of them do not have this understanding as their understanding is of Satan’s world below. And, they follow this “Angel of Light” believing that the light is from God. (See Revelation 12:1-2 and 2 Cor 11:14-15)
Sadly, emotionalism – the drug Satan’s world is wired and drunk on – closes up their eyes, their ears, and their minds. Many “churchgoers” will not be able to listen as Jesus commanded.
As a follower of Christ, I recognize this blindness and have to make allowances for it. That is, understand why so many I speak to refuse to listen.
It is important for all who wish to be like the Master (Christ) that we deal with the blind as he did. We must not fly off the handle even when the blind hurls insults at us or snub their noses up. When they do those things, it only marks them before God, Christ, and all of the angelic hosts that they do not belong to Christ. Christ will not recognize them as his own even though they claim they know him. (Matthew 7:21-23)
No, there is no Holy Land in this world.
