Bible

Is The Bible Really The Word of God?

Today, I was engaged in a pleasant conversation with a newly converted Seventh Day Adventist. His opening dismissive words to me were, “You know, people who do not believe in Jesus are wrong. This is what the Bible says.”

My response was, “Does it?” I went on to explain to him how do you account for the millions of persons living today who know nothing about the teachings of Christ such as in the religions of Islam, Hinduism, Buddism and the many others? Are they wrong? How can they be wrong about something they have no knowledge of? What about the billions who lived and died before there was a Jesus Christ? What about the billions Christ promised that he would resurrect (since Adam and to include Adam) who will have no knowledge of him? Are they wrong? (John 5:28-29 and Acts 24:15)

Too often the line drawn on the battlefields of discussion about religion is one or the other being wrong, and this is what stumbles so many.

Jesus was plotted against, lied upon, falsely accused and brought before high courts, called demon-possessed, betrayed, beaten, spat upon, pierced in his side and put to death. Yet, before he died did he say that those involved were wrong? No! He said their acts were based upon them not knowing. (Luke 23:43)

Then my Seventh Day Adventist friend said to me, “Well, after I tell people about Jesus, then they will know and are accountable and will be wrong if they do not accept him.” What about the billions of dead persons who lived and died before there was a Jesus Christ, will you talk to them, too? My response to him was:

Suppose the information you pass on to others about Christ is in error? Then they still do not know!

He was certain that what he was telling others about Christ was not in error as he said that “The Bible says” this. When I pressed him to show me where it said this, he could not and quickly changed the subject.

The story he next told me transitions nicely into the title of this article. His story was about himself and an experience he had that he felt was a revealing from God. He was told by the Seventh Adventist Church that he had to resolve a very serious problem (so they claimed) before he could get baptized as one of them. He told me that he took a long trip up into the mountains alone with his Bible and prayed to God. “All of a sudden,” he says, “I opened my Bible to Malachi and received my answer from God.”

In his mind, he believed that God answered his prayer through the Bible. I explained to him that that is not how it works. (Besides the verse he was referring to was not a solution. I know that a Seventh Day Adventist church official told him to read out of Malachi.)

Only One Channel To and From God

I then began to explain to him what my Master taught me.

Jesus said of Himself in John 14:6:

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

I related to him that when he prays to the Father in heaven, in whose name does he do it? He answered: Jesus.

“Why then would you expect God to answer you through a different channel (way) other than the one that you used to ask him in prayer? If you asked God through His Son is it not reasonable that He would answer you through His Son? When you prayed to God you did not say “In the name of the Bible, did you?'”

His answer was, “Because the Bible is The Word of God.”

I said, “Who told you that the Bible is the Word of God?” (Who told Adam he was naked? It was not God! Adam told himself he was naked and it is man (Adam) telling themselves that The Bible is the Word of God.)

He said, “2 Tim 3:16-17.”

“Does it” was my response. “Let’s read that passage.”

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

He read it and then said, “You see, it says the Bible is The Word of God.”

My response was, “Where does it say that ‘The Bible is The Word of God?”

“It says all Scripture is the word of God.” he said.

“You are absolutely correct, it does say all Scripture is God-breathed or the Word of God but it does not say the Bible is. Who told you that the Bible is Scripture?”

He went on to say that the, “Only way we can learn about Jesus is through the Bible?” I explained to him who told you that? Why can’t Christ teach you himself? Why can’t you do as Christ said and ask for such things as wisdom and knowledge and understanding from the Father in his name and he will give you those things through His Son. Who told you that it must be through the Bible? Do you think that a book can contain all of the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of God?

It looked like for a moment that his eyes were crossed as he began to think about what I said. While he was in this state of pondering I said to him:

It was men who compiled and named this book you know called the Bible. It was men who called it holy. It was men who said it is Scripture. It was men who said it is The Word of God. What is to prevent anyone from coming forward claiming that any writing they chose are all of those things? Did God tell these men to give the book a name too?

I then asked him, how many Gods are there. He said one (but one as a part of a Trinity. I let this slide because I did not want to change the discussion). I then said to him, “If you believe that there is only one God, why would you believe that there are two Words of God: A book called by men, The Bible and Christ himself?

I could see his brain go into shut down mode. I can tell that he was not hearing anymore that I had to say. He had to go all of a sudden. And recall, he was certain that what he was telling others about Christ was not in error.

Another Way?

When we say we believe in God and His Christ and believe that God uses other ways to communicate with us – such as people, religious organizations, or a book called the Bible – then we are in error and we are really saying that Christ is not the way.

If we make requests to God in prayer through His Son, then we should expect answers to those prayers through that same channel! Why deviate off course to think God uses other means to speak with us. If we do, then we are no different from the woman Eve who listened to another source.

Note: It is obvious that the woman thought the Serpent was from God. Think: What reason would she not think this? God created this creature and placed him in the garden along with the man and the woman. (Genesis 3:1) Likewise, many of the teachings we see today believed in by millions are believed by them to have come God. That the Bible is the word of God is one such teaching.

Consider Jesus’ words at John 10:1-5:

Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.  The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.  When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.  But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.

Jesus’ words affirm that we cannot approach God through some other way. If one attempts to do so, they are likened to a thief and a robber. Those who are truly Christs disciples, listen to his voice as the Father commanded we do and they listen to and respond to no other. (Luke 9:35)

How is one a thief and a robber if they attempt to approach God and receive from him (listens) by some other way? They rob Christ of his true role in God’s scheme of things. The Son of God is the ONLY Word of God. Nothing should be set next to him – such as a book called the Bible – as such. Christ is holy; and no book should share that title. In fact, it is blasphemous.

What is interesting in Jesus’ words is that his true followers know is voice (teachings). His true followers would NEVER follow a strangers voice (teaching), such as God speaking to them through the Bible. Rather, those who listen to Christ would recognize teachings that are not from him and would run away (reject) those teachings.

“But How Else Can I Learn About Christ If It We Not For The Bible?”

This is a question I get alot. It is easily answered if one chooses to accept the answer. To answer this question, I ask another questions as follows:

  • How did King Solomon become so wise? Was it because of a book?

  • Who told the word that God would use a book called the Bible as a means to learn about His Son?

  • Who compiled the book called the Bible?

  • Who gave it that name?

  • Who authorized it?

  • Who made it holy?

  • Who sold the idea that it is Scripture?

  • Who told the world that it is The Word of God?

Once one really answers the questions above and come to grips with the truth, they will always find themselves on a hamster-treadmill that goes round and round but goes no where.

Firstly, King Solomon – the wisest of all men – did not have a book called the Bible (Genesis to Revelation). It did not exist in his day. Neither did Solomon know the name of Jesus. Jesus would not arrive on the scene until some 1000 years later. So how did Solomon become so wise? By constant prayer to God. It was God who …

continued giving Solomon wisdom and understanding in very great measure and a broadness of heart, like the sand that is upon the seashore. And Solomon’s wisdom was vaster than the wisdom of all the Orientals and than all the wisdom of Egypt. (Pslams 89)

How many of us today really use prayer to ask God for wisdom, understanding and a broad heart? Or, do we rely the pages of a book that men fashioned by men and named by men: The Bible?

Who told the word that God would use a book called the Bible as a means to learn about His Son? Well, it was not God. It was men! Specifically, it was men of European descent who did this. God was clear in his command at Luke 9:35 who He would use. The problem is that many refuse to listen and obey God’s command. They have been so throughly indoctrinated by the religious system called by men – Christianity – that they are actually afraid to do so. They believe that if they DON’T use and rely on the Bible that they are not obeying God! The reality is that they are DISOBEYING God and Obeying the men who lied to them and got them to believe in the book they compiled.

And a voice came out of the cloud, saying: “This is my Son, the one that has been chosen. Listen to him.

Who compiled the book called the Bible? Again, it was men of European descent who did. They waited until after Christ ascended. Jesus never left anyone instructions to put together a book to called by any name and use it to tech him. After Christ ascended, his teachings were passed on by word of mouth by those taught by him. There was no passing out of books to the people in the congregations way back then! Imagine if that method of teaching continued up to this day! There would be no confusion about Christs teachings. When men decided to compile a book and with every Tom, Dick and Harry creating THEIR OWN translations of it, the word of mouth passing on of Christs teachings were lost. People were cleverly and subtly bound to a book. It came in under the radar after Christ ascended. How clever and insidious this was! Now, it is a great task to speak the truth about God and Christ because the throughly misled and indoctrinated world cannot handle it. It rejects it just as Christ was rejected when he first came SPEAKING the truth.

Who gave it that name? Again, it was not God. Does it really make sense for God – who sent His Son – to tell one element of mankind (the Europeans) to put together a book (in Old English) and give it a name: The Bible? Surely we cannot be that gullible. But many are and really choose not to think about it.

Who authorized it? Did God authorize man to compile a book containing 66 smaller books (rejecting the other 18 scrolls)? Mind you, these scrolls were all that the European man discovered to date! Or did man himself authorize the book. Well, you have heard of the Authorized King James Version (1611). Well, the title itself tells you who authorized it. King James was not a religious man, he was a head of State.

You could say James had no more authority in biblical matters than any head of state, basically none. What authority would a “George Bush Bible” have?

Who made it holy? Again, it was not God. Since it was men who name it and authorized it, it was men who sold heavily that it is from God and holy. And the world believed this lie line, hook and sinker.

Who sold the idea that it is Scripture? Scripture is anything that God says and it is written down. (2 Tim 3:16). At the time 2 Tim 3:16 was written down by the Apostle Paul some 1950 years ago, there was no such thing as “The Bible.” So how can a book that appears on the scene 1950 later, be Scripture? Because the European man says so. Again, this is arrogant and spits in the face of the Most High God and His Messiah.

Who told the world that it is The Word of God? This is the most blasphemous thing the religious system of Christianity has done. It has stood up a book that it compiled, named, authorized, called holy, the Word of God! Think about that seriously for a moment. Think about it some more! God has already told us who He sent! God has already told us who the Word of God is! God has already told us who to listen to!

But no, the European man steps in and has created a subtitute and they call it the Bible. This is a direct challenge to God’s authority. And, tell me, who is it that challenges God’s authority? It is Satan the Devil.

Jesus says at John 8:44:

YOU are from YOUR father the Devil, and YOU wish to do the desires of YOUR father. That one was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of the lie.

It is the desire of the religious system called by men to steer persons away from the truth. What is interesting about John 8:44 is that the Devil knows the truth! He chose not to remain in it. It is the lie that he is full of. And this is what those who are within the religious system called by men – Christianity – are being conditioned to become filled up with: The lie. So filled up with the lies, that when hearing the truth, they will reject it. This pattern is a familiar one as Christ was rejected when he spoke the truth.

No where does one read – even in the book called by men, the Bible – that “The Bible” is the Word of God. No where. As I stated before, God did not send the world a book, He sent His Son. It is man himself – in defiance to God – who sent the world a book!

Yes, there are portions within this book called the Bible (this book could have been given no name), where God and His Son are speaking. This is Scripture. Not the book in its entirety. Satan and his demons are even quoted in the Bible and their words are not Gods Words! So why would anyone believe that “The Bible” is Gods Word?

One section of the book is called The Book of Revelation. If any book is from God it is this book. Why? Because at the very beginning we are told:

A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him …

The very first verse tells us where it came from and who God gave it to. And, it is within this book, that we are told who is The Word of God. Revelation 19:12-13 says:

He has a name written that no one knows but he himself, and he is arrayed with an outer garment sprinkled with blood, and the name he is called is The Word of God.

So if you think the Bible is the Word of God, it is because you want to believe it is. Just know, God did not tell you that, men did. God has told you who The Word of God is and many of you do not accept it. You fear men and there religious organizations so much, you are willing to turn an ear against what God has told you.

You chose a book over the person of Christ.

A Major Problem

A major problem that is rampant in the world of Christianity is that it has been told that the Bible is The Word of God. Suppose the European men back then who arrogated themselve to authorize this book gave it a name such as “Ralph or James” would they refer to it as The Word of God? Nothing would have prevented them from giving this book any name they chose. Yet, millions blindly accept it as something holy because men say so.

This belief is so widespread that people claiming to believe in God and Christ refer to it before they do Christ in their discussions!

For example, they will say, “The Bible says …” or “The Bible teaches …” Even if God or His Christ is saying it, they will still say, “The Bible says …”

That was the experience I had with my Seventh Day Adventist friend today before he “Had to go.”

Christ as the ONLY Word of God has really been pushed off into the background and a book has replaced him. The name of this book flows off of the lips of persons more than the name of Christ does.

As proof of what I am talking about here, I invite you to look at the websites of the major so-called Christian religious organizations and notice that “The Bible,” “The Organization itself,” “It’s Current Leadership,” and/or the founders are mentioned and featured far more times than Christ is. Here are two examples: Here and Here.

Millions today – unknown to them – are involved in the idolatrous and blasphemous act of Bible worship and placing it in a holy position, a place where it does not belong.

Because so many have believed that “The Bible” is the Word of God, they have used it (believed it) to rationalize war, murder, and killing. Most persons who are involved within Christianity have an uncanny way of saying one thing and doing the opposite of what Christ taught. The fruit produced in people as a result of the Bible being put in a holy position, has caused much harm and destruction and harm to the human family. They would rather believe “an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth” than believe Jesus’ teaching of love and forgiving others – even ones enemies. They fail to separate this book from Christs teachings. They see it as a whole.

Jesus said at Matthew 24:15-16:

So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand —  then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Yet, the teachings of Christ would not cause such harm … only if people would listen to him. Instead they listen to a book called the Bible.

The Most High God did not chose any other and not command us to listen to anyone other than His Son. (Luke 9:35)

Revelation 19:13 identifies who is the ONLY Word of God:

He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.

Is the book called the Bible dressed in this manner?

No one of importance. A disciple (student) of Christ apart from the established religious systems who reasons, thinks and concludes matters for myself. Something is not right with the state of religion in the world. The real dichotomy is that we live in a world so full of religion, yet is an evil, immoral, and dangerous place to live. A mental and spiritual separation from this world that Jesus said his kingdom is no part of is the first step to a "break-through" to freedom and entry into a much larger spiritual world where God and Christ resides and the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of God can be accessed.

  1. I believe in Jesus. I love him very very much and try to follow his Way daily. I think of myself as a Christian. I think this because I know that Jesus came to earth, lived a sinless life, allowed himself to die for our sins, and was three days later resurrected by his Father, our Father, God.

I came upon your website today because I was looking for answers. I’ve only recently started devouring the bible, and I have questions, as do we all. But what you say about the bible..it leaves me slightly confused. Now I’m the last person to try and argue, and please correct me if I’m wrong about this, because I very well may be. But it seems like even Jesus knew of scripture, for he says many times “it is written” (Matthew 4: 5, 7, 10, just to name a few).

Now I know that Jesus was the Word made flesh. And I know that we need only him to reach God because it is by no works of our own that that can be done, only by our faith in the Son of God. But it seems to me that maybe even Jesus would approve of the bible, maybe not in full, but partly. He sent his disciples out to preach to the world about himself and all he could offer them if they would repent of their sins and call out to him, trust him and believe by faith. How would you and I and millions of others even known of Jesus if it were not for His words stained on the pages of the bible?

I apologize. I didn’t mean to go into so much. I plan to read more of your thoughts on the Jesus and God. You believe and I believe, and hopefully many more will lend an ear to Jesus through you and I. I hope you have a wonderful day. 🙂

    1. Hi Sylvia.

      Thank you for visiting.

Please do not think that I do not believe in Jesus; I do – probably more than most and more than you will know.

Permit me to first answer your question: “How would you and I and millions of others even known of Jesus if it were not for His words stained on the pages of the bible?

Answer: By the same way King Solomon became the wisest man to ever live: By prayer to God.

There are billions of persons – born since Adam and before Christ came on the earthly scene – who would have never heard of Jesus. How do you think they will learn about Jesus? The Bible? No!

At their resurrections – as promised by Christ a John 5:28-29 – they will hear Christs voice. He will teach them. There will be no Bible.

For us today, it is by prayer to God – through His Son – that we gain knowledge – NOT by a book men gave the name Bible to.

No book can contain God’s knowledge, wisdom and understanding.

The mistake many have made is that they have elevated “a book” to a holy position it should not have and they look to it and consult it. Only Christ can be in that position.

Instead, what we should be doing is doing what Jesus said we should do: “Ask and you shall receive.” In other words, RELY ON PRAYER TO THE FATHER through Christ. It is THROUGH the “person” of Christ – no a book – that God will answer those requests. The Bible is NOT the WAY, Christ Jesus is.

Only a faithless generation seeks to rely upon things that it can see (a book). It requires faith to worship God and serve Christ. Faith is a MUST. (John 4:23-24)

Never should be attrribute to a book (which you can see) – that came on the scene many hundreds of years AFTER Christs ascension into heaven as being the WAY one learns about Jesus.

Yes, Christs teachings are contained in this book but you will find Jesus mentioned in the Koran as well. But do you read it?

My point is that someone decided FOR YOU that it is a book that men gave the name to – The Bible – is the way one learns about Christ.

I believe that you and I have been lied to. I also believe that God and Christ have been taught and portrayed incorrectly.

Have you ever seen Jesus? Has any person today ever seen Jesus? Why would anyone, then, think that he is a hippy-looking White man as he is “popularily” portrayed? (Google Jesus and tell me what you see). Truth is truth. And if a person says that they believe in him then they should concede to the truth as Jesus said that he is “the truth.” (John 14:6)

At present, you cannot see the Son of God because he is invisible; he ascended into heaven more than 2000 years ago. So why is he today  being portrayed as “flesh and blood” and as someone who is White. (It would be wrong to portray him in the likeness of any race among the human family).

You are correct, Jesus did know Scripture; but what Scripture? There was no Bible in Jesus’ day. There was no book by that name containing 66 books. So what Scriptures did Jesus know?

Ask yourself: Who told you that the Bible is the Word of God?
Ask yourself: Who told you that the Bible is Scripture?

It was men – who lived in Europe – in the fourth century who packaged up a book with 66 smaller scrolls (there were actually 84 scrolls but THEY decided not to use all of them), and gave THEIR  book a name and called it “The Bible.”

Ask yourself: Did God tell them to do that?
Ask yourself: Did God tell them to give this book the name “Bible?”
Ask yourself: Did God tell them to call it Scripture?
Ask yourself: Did God tell them “authorize” it?
Ask yourself: Did God tell them to call this book “holy?”
Ask yourself: Did God tell them to call this book “The Word of God?”

The answer is “no” to all of the above.

Dear reader, it is not that Jesus knew the scrolls he had back in his day, it is WHAT JESUS TAUGHT.

Today many persons mention the Bible more too often than they do Christ as “saying” something. The Bible IS NOT the Word of God, Christ is THE WORD OF GOD.

It is MEN, who told YOU that the Bible is to be held in high regard and something to be studied and consulted. That is NOT what God Himself says. My God and your God tells us to listen to His Son, not to a book fashioned by men; and not dead prophets. But listen to his Son. (Luke 9:35)

Many are confused at me because I do not by into the popular orientation that much of the world is being directed concerning God and Christ.

I hold my Master as the ONLY Word of God. “Of God.” Meaning that Jesus is not God but is “of God.”

Yet, I will not disrespect my Master by ignoring what he taught me concerning who he is (The Son of God) who himself has a God. Neither will I disrespect the Creator of both Christ and me, the Father who is the ONLY God.

Ask yourself: Who told you be called Christian?” Answer: The very ones who have been selling the “error” to the things I asked above.

Neither God or Christ told you or me to be known as “Christians.” I have challenged this and no one has come forward to show where he or his Father in heaven did.

Jesus never called himself a Christian.
Jesus never called his disciples Christian.
Jesus’ disciples never called each other Christians.

      It is not there.

What is there is what Jesus told us to become: His disciples. (John 8:31-32 and Matthew 28:19-20)

That is all I am: His disciple.

I cast off from myself all titles such as Christian, Catholic, Jehovahs Witness, Seventh Day Adventist, Mormon, etc because Christ NEVER said to be call bt those titles either. THEY ARE ALL MAN MADE.

It is because I refuse to conform with what the powerful religious system – called by men – Christianity says I should be and be called, this is what confuses many.

It is really quite simple: If one listens to Christ (his teachings), it does not matter what man-made religion says.

In fact, anyone TRULY listening to Christ will have a problem with what is called “Christianity” and Christianity will have a problem with you.

Look at it! Look at Christianity! It is NOT of God and Christ. (I know this is painful, but it is the truth).  It is the foretold imposter that would come “in the name of Jesus” truthfully proclaiming him “The Messiah” but would mislead many. (Matthew 24:4-5)

When you cling to Christs teachings, the whole world of Christianity will be against you.

Christianity teaches using a drug called “emotion.” It makes people so drunk with emotion that they cannot think and reason for themselves. Christianity continues to keep its membership drunk with it.

Reason is the opposite of emotion. Reason sobers one up.

This is where Christs truth followers are. They think and reason and do not respond out of emotion.

I know many persons who “want” Jesus to be God so badly that they shutdown and will not listen to reason or read Scriptures such as John 1:18, 1 Cor 8:6, John 20:31 or Matthew 16:15-16.

When drunk with emotion, the truth is rejected and vomited out.

I encourage you to continue here and reading my articles. I will not mislead you. But I can also say, what I write will not be easy to digest, but it will be the truth.

      R. Jerome Harris, a champion for Christs teachings as he taught them. Not what religious organization says they are and how I am to believe them.

Ask God in prayer through His Son what one wants to know. Do not rely on a book men gave the name “The Bible” or the Koran” or any other book.

God is alive and so is Christ. They are fully able to teach us.

Try prayer as your avenue learning and increasing your knowledge of God and Christ. Ask God for “His” wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

Be careful what you ask for and be prepared for the shock you will receive.

The world of Christianity will not like you anymore.

  2. I do not understand you my friend,we must not believe the bible or the Koran, where do you get your insperation from ?

    1. From the unseen one,my Master Christ, The Son of God.

I do not need a book to get inspiration. Before there was such thing as a Bible, where do you think people such as Solomon got his inspiration from. Where do you think Christs disciples got their inspiration from after Christ ascended? It was not from a book.

When Christ ascended, he promised he would send his disciples a “helper.” That help would be The Holy Spirit and we saw its power as it fell upon his disciples on Pentecost 33 C.E. where they spoke in languages they never studied. There was no book called the Bible.

Jesus said at John 4:23-24 that out worship of the Father MUST be with Spirit and Truth because a Spirit cannot be seen. (Col 1:15)

That Christ exist now as a living spirit, our believe in him must be as one invisible. This requires faith to believe and DRAW inspiration from someone you cannot see.

The problem is men have ignored God and His Messiah and have stationed up so-called holy books (something that they can see) that they tell people to draw inspiration from. And the world fell for it. Thus, we have an entire world that is unfaithful and faithless because instead of exercising full measure and full faith in the Creator and His Messiah who we cannot see, the world places faith in books and draw inspiration from them.

They act as if God and His Messiah are dead or do not exist. If God and Christ exist, then draw inspiration from THEM, not a book. That is a part of what praying to God through Christ is for.

My knowledge is not due to a book or any religious organization, but due to God through Christ. I ACTUALLY ask God in order to receive FROM HIM his wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

What do I need a book for when God promises to give me those things for the asking – through his son – them? That is where I get my inspiration from.

  3. Hi. I am confused by your beliefs. You say the bible was written by men yet you continue to quote scriptures from it.

-If Christ teaches you personally, why bother consulting the bible?  How can you even be sure those writings about Jesus are reliable?

-Do you think the bible is true or not? Were the prophets divinely inspired or not?

-Do you follow both Old and New Testament? Which books? How do y know they’re true?

-What do you think about the violence of the OT God (known as Yehovah, Elohim, Adonai) such as the flood, Passover killing of 1st borns, Sodom & Gomorrah, etc? Are these true accounts? Is this the same God that sent Jesus? If so, why such a great contrast?

I know I’ve asked a lot of questions. I am just a confused truth seeker looking for another opinion.

    1. These are very good questions and I am glad that you asked them because it allows me to explain what I believe and why “The Bible” is “used” and in what capacity.

You asked: You say the bible was written by men yet you continue to quote scriptures from it.

I have said that it was men who “compiled” the book, gave it a name, called it “scriptures”, call it “holy” and call it The Word of God. I never said that God and Christ do not directly speak in “portions” of this book. That does not make the book – in its entirety” the Word of God. The men who compiled it compiled it from 84 or so scrolls they found, but “decided” to include 66 of the 84 scrolls in the book that they “compiled.” Additionally, these men also translated the Hebrew, Aramic and Greek with prejudice. What I saying – in short – is that the Bible must be keep in its place where it belongs and that is NOT in a lofty position where only Christ can be. It cannot ALSO be called what Christ ONLY is: The Word of God. Adam, Eve, The Serpent (later the Devil), demons and many others besides God and Christ are quoted in this book. If the Bible is the Word of God, then are those persons words ALSO the Word of God? No! God speaks at Luke 9:35 and he says to “listen to His Son.” We must re-train ourselves to understand that “Bible Verses” were established and named by men. None of Christs disciples would say, “Let’s open our Bibles to verse so and so.” It is like this: I know individuals who believe that Saturday is the sabbath day. Yet, the days of the week – Sunday through Saturday – were created by men and these names are not written anywhere in the scrolls. Yet, these persons insist that “Saturday” is the sabbath or seventh day. Likewise, it is men who created the name Bible and sold the idea that it is holy, and scripture, and the Word of God. God has already told us who IS The Word of God but people insist on defending a book that men compiled and God did not tell us to listen to as “The Word God.” (Rev 19:13)

Those who insist on the Bible being the Word of God have not placed faith in the one who is. They act as if he is dead and unable to teach us. Yet, after his ascension he poured out a baptism of Holy Spirit upon 120 disciples on Pentecost 33 and those men spoke in a language they never studied.

Did the imprisoned Apostle John in Revelation have a book called “the Bible?” No! Yet, he received something very valuable from Christ out of heaven! The world has forgotten who its master is. And, a book has replaced him.

The Bible has gotten all of the props and receives more attention and “being consulted” than Christ himself. This is what I am trying to get persons to understand.

Nothing read in the Bible is reliable and here is why? Because men have had their hands in it. So that is why prayer to God – through his son – is so important. It is the “asking” and “receiving” from God knowledge, wisdom, and understanding that infuses one, not what is written on a book called The Bible. That is what God wants us to ask him for and Christ directed us to do it as well. (John 4:23-24).

If you place 100 percent of your reliance on asking and receiving from God, you will understand what I am talking about. The Bible reduces to almost nothing because you are connected to God – not through a book – but through His Son and the knowledge and understang received will be incredible. Thus once that is done and then you pick up a Bible, you will know what is true and false reliable and unreliable in it. You will be armed with insight to test what is spoken and what is read. (1 John 4:1)

You Asked? Do you think the bible is true or not? Were the prophets divinely inspired or not?

The Bible is NOT TRUE. It contains SOME truth, but it itself is not true. There is only one TRUTH and that is The Son of God. (John 14:6). Once again, focus is placed on “The Bible” as being “true” rather than God’s Son. That full reliance of placing faith in God and Christ (and not a book) and asking and receiving knowledge, wisdom and understanding will prove this. The testing that the Bible is “true” will  fail. The testing that Christ is “true” will pass.

Do I read the Bible? Yes, I do. But for the benefit of others who read it. I have to be able to use the book they use to show their error. And, I have done so effectively. By doing that (as I am doing now in my response to you) I can hope to get them to focus not on a book, but on the one God sent and REALLY place faith in him that he can impart upon his disciples knowledge via “Holy Spirit” and not a book that he would not even recognize. (This book came into existence conveniently after his ascension).

What I know now is the result of prayer to God through his son. I always ask for “his” wisdom, “his” understanding,  and “his” knowledge. I do not pick up a Bible thinking that “through” it God speaks to me. He speaks to me through the ONLY way I asked Him, his Son. (John 14:6)

It is rare that I pick up a Bible unless I need to respond to someones questions. And, when I read it, I understand. And, I must admit, it is not like what the religious system called by men – Christianity – explains it. Not even close.

You Asked: Do you follow both Old and New Testament? Which books? How do y know they’re true?

First of all there is no such thing as an Old and New Testament. These are names that men created. God had various covenants (agreements) with people. He had a law covenant between ancient Israel (who was led out of Egypt) and Moses was the mediator of that covenant. That “testament” was between God and Israel (not between God and Christs disciples because their was no “Christianity” in those days). When Christ arrived on the scene, he fulfilled that old covenant that God had made between himself and the Jews. That is why God sent his Son to the Jews. Jesus paid “the rent” so-to-speak because the Jews fell behind on their payments (they could not keep the letter of the law). Jesus  gave a new commandment for all who would be his disciples. (John 13:34-35)

So what are called Old and New Testaments are created expressions and shows how far removed he is from understanding his Creator and the one that he sent. So they had to make up names to make sense of that which many still do not understand. Think: Even you are using the expressions Old and New Testament. This shows how cunning and powerful the religious system of Christianity is. It gets people to say and believe things God or Christ did not and they don’t even know why and they do not “test” or “question” them. I say this with all respect.

You Asked: What do you think about the violence of the OT God (known as Yehovah, Elohim, Adonai) such as the flood, Passover killing of 1st borns, Sodom and Gomorrah, etc? Are these true accounts? Is this the same God that sent Jesus? If so, why such a great contrast?

I am sooo glad you asked this question. Notice what you reference: “The Bible.” The nations believing in “The Bible” use this very same line of reasoning to justify killing. And, that is why the Bible is unreliable. Think about it. God sends his Son. Jesus says that no man has ever seen God (John 1:18) but one can know what God is like “by looking at me (The Son).

You mentioned a contrast. The contrast is there because it is “The Bible” versus “The Christ.” God told us to listen to His Son (Luke 9:35).

We have “natural” occurrences such as earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, volcanic erruptions, floods, etc and it is easy for people to say or write down that this is God’s punishment. It makes God out to be a killer and hater of men. Well, if Christ is his Son, we did not see this in his son. So, that means that mankind then and now STILL do not know God.

The flood of Noahs day was not a global flood. How could it be? Mankind had not had his language confused to disperse. That would not happen until AFTER the flood. People say, “Well, where did all of the water on the earth come from?” They have been misled AWAY from what is written at Genesis 1:2: The earth in the very beginning of creation was ALREADY ALL water. God had to make dry land appear out of it.  So the flood of Noah’s day was in a localized “world” that the people knew. And, if the people in those days – and the angels who seeded women (not physically) were creating hybrids, then that was against God’s will for man and woman to multiply, not women and angels. Thus, God had to stop that. But preserved mankind through Noah and his family.

None of the stories of Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah can be verified as true. Was Noah called Noah? (Noah is an English name and the English language did not exist). Was Adam and Eve called by those names? Moses or Muses? etc. So what I am really trying to highlight here is that it NEVER should be about “The Bible” and what IT says, but about what God says through his Son (thus what Christ says).

I know that God speaks the truth. I know that Christ speaks the truth because he is Gods word. So why would I consult “The Bible” as “The Truth?” That makes no sense to me. The many who do consult the “Bible” as The Word of God and True do so because religious organization told them to.

The Most High God says different in their book at Luke 9:35. (This Scripture passes the test of truthfullness). Don’t believe me? Just ask God and allow Him to answer you.

  4. Thank you so much for this!

How could I be so stupid to believe that man could not have changed the words in the bible when he obviously "translated" the Hebrew names to Greek/English etc? These changes explain the many contradictions that I find the more that I study. The delusion within the churches of Christianity is strong. You are exactly right when you say " It gets people to say and believe things God or Christ did not and they don’t even know why and they do not “test” or “question” them."

Luckily, I was called to leave my cult of a church 2 years ago and I have been seeking a relationship with God the best that I know how ever since. I've prayed for others and myself about worldy things (ex. jobs, necessities, etc) and sure they happen in time. It is the spiritual matters of great importance (revelation, saving others, understanding, improved relationship w/ God, etc) that I desperately desire which don't seem to follow through even though I pray and read my bible daily (like a good Christian!) and strive for these things with all of my heart.

I've been feeling a great urgency in my heart for a while now.I finally acknowledged it last week while I was on my Spring Break begging God to reveal more of Himself to me. After incessantly searching and searching for answers (how I came across your blog) over the course of that week,

I know that something is NOT right.

I've finally snapped out of it! I can feel the stirring of my spirit in my chest. I know that i have been lied to, I've entertained the idea that the bible may not be true and I have DARED to say that Christianity may be the very deception that we were warned about in Revelations.

It breaks my heart to suggest that I may have been duped all of my life but I don't think this Jehovah character is who many of us think he is. It hurts to admit that I don't know the real God. How could I when I don't even know His name or His son's name? Surely, you will not get an answer if you call someone afar by the wrong name. These generic names of God, LORD, Jesus, Christos just don't cut it for me anymore. There are many Lords and Jesus' and there's even a Christos in one of my classes. I could be praying to anyone! So, my next set of questions for you are:

-By what name do you call on God and His Son?

-How do you know that these are their names?

-How do you know that the God you pray to is the one that created mankind and the world?

-What are the different ways that He communicates with you?

I feel debilitated in my spiritual walk because I am afraid to give my prayers and praise to the enemy once again. I am doing my own research on the matter but I'd like to know what you think. Ha, I did not anticipate on writing this much but I guess I needed to express in a manner outside of my own head.

    Thanks for you thoughts!

    1. It is that “Not knowing that something is not right” urge that needs to be satisfied. It is good that you have it.

You have been told that “a good Christian” is supposed to read the Bible. You have been lied to. It is not reading the Bible that makes you a follower of Christ, it is “direct” discipleship to Christ WITHOUT religious organization or any books. It is being taught by him “directly” and not through the pages of a book.

My friend, who do you think taught Christs disciples more than 2000 years ago? It was not a book called the Bible because it did not exist. After Christs ascension, his disciples where taught by word of mouth and they remembered what Christ taught them about prayer and “asking and receiving.”

Today, our primary means of receiving knowledge, understanding and wisdom from God is through prayer to God through Christ. We receive those things from God ONLY through Christ, not the Bible. The Bible appears “conveneiently” out of the blue many hundreds of years after Christs ascension and the religious system called by men Christianity has duped the world to consult it instead of Christ himself.

So you MUST re-train your thinking to engage in prayer to God through Christ for wisdom, understanding and knowledge. That will require 100 percent faith in God and Christ (because you cannot see them) in their ability to provide you those things. God and Christ are alive and I assure you that Christ is able to teach you apart from religion.

Religon wants you to focus on what you can “see.” The Bible you can see. No faith is required. (Hebrews 11:1)

By indoctrinating an entire world to be “religious” the religious systems are able to create a world of “unfaithful” persons who rely on a book or books, instead of the ones who cannot be seen. (John 4:23-24 and Col 1:15)

HERE ARE THE ANWSERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS:

By what name do you call on God and His Son?

I no longer call God by the name of Jehovah. Why: Because His Son never did. Christ always referred to him as “Father.” Plus, the tetragrammaton of JHWH does not produce an accurate name. It just be enough for us to do address our God as Jesus did: Father.

As regards his Son, I call him by his titles: Son of God, Word of God, Christ, and Messiah. I will use the English name “Jesus” for the sake of those who read my articles as I know they do not know better. I also know the Son of God is “Michael.”

Too, Matthew 16:15-17, Jesus asked his disciples the question: “Who do YOU say I am?” There response was not “Jesus” (a name), but it was his titles of “Christ” and “The Son of God.”

How do you know that these are their names?

The name of Jehovah and Jesus (and Adam, Eve, Noah, Moses, Jeremiah, etc) are English names. No one knows how any of them were pronounced.

The “duping,” assumption, and deception has been regarding these names has been the “English” language. English is European in origin. And, it has been the man of European descent who has defined for everyone else how these names are to be pronounced. And the world subscribed to it with a question or challenge.

Yet, here is the most consoling thing: It is not the literal name of God or Christ that we should be focused on, but rather their “reputation.” So when Christ said at Matthew 6:9, “…Let your name be sanctified” he was NOT referring to a literal name, but the God’s reputation. (Notice that in Matthew 6:9 Christ never used a name. Instead he used “Father.”

At Exodus 3:13-14″.. Moses said to God: “Suppose I am now come to the sons of Israel and I do say to them, ‘The God of YOUR forefathers has sent me to YOU,’ and they do say to me, ‘What is his name?’ What shall I say to them?” At this God said to Moses: “I SHALL PROVE TO BE WHAT I SHALL PROVE TO BE.” And he added: “This is what you are to say to the sons of Israel, ‘I SHALL PROVE TO BE has sent me to YOU.”

Notice that God did not give him a name. Rather God gave Moses in answer “His reputation” saying that “I SHALL PROVE TO BE WHAT I SHALL PROVE TO BE.”

How do you know that the God you pray to is the one that created mankind and the world?

This involves faith. There is one Creator. If you call out to that Creator it is he – not you – who will confirm and prove to you that He is. You will know because he will reveal Himself to you. This is between you and God (your Creator) and no one else. No religious organization or person can confirm that connection between you and the Creator (though they try to). Only your Creator can do that. Thus, you must be as Solomon was, praying intently that He reveal Himself to you. Then you will know that he sent one into the world and he is the one we should be listening to. (Not religious organizations). I personally cannot help much with this other than to say, if you want to know the truth, ask God for it and be prepared for it. You might not like what you will receive. But it will be the truth. When you speak, persons claiming to follow God and Christ will not want to hear what you have to say. But it will be the truth.

What are the different ways that He communicates with you?

There is only ONE WAY God communicates with us, through His Son and no one and nothing else. No, not through religious organizations or other persons. Only through his Son who is “The Way” and the “Doorkeeper.”

Christ at John 14:6 shows that he is the ONLY way: “Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

People who fight with me over “The Bible” simply do not believe me when I tell them that I do not rely upon the pages of the Bible. Yes, I have read it, but my primary means of receiving wisdom, understanding and knowledge is from God by prayer through His Son.

I know that when I am sleeping my brain is at rest and I believe that God uses that sleep interval to send what I ask via His Holy Spirit through His Son to me. I wake up and I just know. There is nothing magical that happens. I just know.

We use only 10 percent of our brain. God has locked down 90 percent of it for a reason. I believe so that those earnestly seeking him can receive his wisdom, understanding and knowledge. No book by any name can contain Gods wisdom, understanding and knowledge.

So I rely 100 percent on prayer to God through His Son. The Bible has nothing to do with it. Yet, when I read the Bible, I know when and where it is speaking the truth, where the errors and misunderstandings are.

Many today read the Bible FIRST and THEN they reconcile what they believe within it. When what they should DO FIRST is rely upon God’s wisdom, understanding and knowledge – by asking for it – and THEN see if what is written in this book is true. Not the other way around.

Yet, religious organization purposely prevents persons from becoming 100 percent reliant on God FIRST so as to be armed with knowledge to put “The Bible” and THEM to the test.
