“When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep. And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing!” He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm. The men were amazed, and said, “What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” (Matthew 8:23-27)
“When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?” (Matthew 8:28-29)
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. (Psalms 23;1-2)
For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people. (1 Corinthians 14:33)
Look at the images below. What stands out?
Emotionalism! Don’t tell me or attempt to convince me that this is from Christ! I hear you, but I do not accept this.
Don’t tell me that this is just how it is. That in the “Black Church” this is “How we do.” I know that! But I no longer accept that this is from Christ. Neither do I accept the notion of “Gospel Music” or “Christian Music.” Who authorized this? Who made that up and sold it to the world?
